Perfect Your Posture
Maintaining proper posture not only makes you look better, it can reduce fatigue and backache. When standing or sitting, the way you hold your body affects the health of your spine, joints and ligaments.
Remember these perfect posture points:
- Stand tall, with your shoulders pulled back and your head positioned atop your shoulders.
- If you must stand in one place for a long time, shift your weight – heel to toe or one foot to another.
- At your desk, sit up straight with your hips up against the back of your chair. Keep your feet on the floor, legs uncrossed, with your knees at about the same height as your hips. Place a small step stool under your feet, if needed.
- If your desk chair or car seat does not have lumbar support, place a pillow or rolled up towel at the arch of your lower back.
